OUR CLINICS

Our  Winter/Spring 2020 Clinics are now open for registration. 

 

All K2J clinics include a group workout once a week. These workouts start with a 1.5-2.5km warm-up run followed by a set of faster intervals. The intervals are all done on a track or in an area where everyone goes around in circles! So no one gets left behind and everyone can go at their own pace.

We provide personalized schedules for your other runs each week but we do not organize formal group runs. Many group members do meet and do other runs each week.

We hold workouts in Barrhaven on Thursday nights starting in January.  Payment is not due until the clinic starts and can be made with cash, cheque or email transfer. Receipts can be provided on request.

Boston Marathon Clinic

At Barrhaven Source for Sports 

 

With more than 20 runners from K2J Fitness qualifying for and running the Boston Marathon in each of the last nine years we like to think that we are Ottawa’s Boston experts! Come and join us for Boston 2020. This clinic is designed specifically for runners who will be running the Boston Marathon. Workouts will include some speed and lots and lots of hills.  All runners will also receive a personalized running schedule.  Look out Hopkinton we are back.

Around The Bay

Jan 9- Mar 26, Thursdays 6:15-7:45 pm.

At Barrhaven Source for Sports

 

This clinic is designed specifically for runners who plan to run Around the Bay. Workouts will be done with the Boston group and will include some speed and lots of hills.  All runners will also receive a personalized running schedule.

Ottawa Half / Full Marathon Clinic 

Feb. 6- May 21, Thursdays 6:15-7:45 PM - At Barrhaven Source for Sports

 

Come and join us for workouts aimed at bringing out your inner long distance runner. Workouts will include speed, hill and tempo work for the longer distances. All runners will receive a personalized running schedule.  This clinic is geared to the Ottawa marathon and half marathon on May 26th (schedules can be arranged for other spring marathons).

Run your Best 10k Clinic

March 7-May 21 - Thursday 6:15 - 7:45 PM at Barrhaven Source for Sports

Join us for your first 10k, or to improve your 10k time. All runners will receive a personalized running schedule. Workouts will include speed, hill and tempo work for 10K runners.  Runners should be able to run or run/walk 5k before starting this clinic.

Boston or Around the Bay to Ottawa Race Weekend Clinic

COACHES

 

JR Tremblay

NCCP Level 2 Middle Distance Trained, Coaching level I, CANSI I, Certified Spinning Instructor.

 

JR has been running for over 20 years, and has competed in several Canadian forces running championships. He recently qualified for the world duathlon championships and is the assistant team captain on the executive of the Canadian Forces Triathlon team. He has run several marathons, including New York city, Philadelphia, and Boston. JR truly enjoys sharing his vast running experience with everyone.

Judy Andrew-Piel

NCCP Level 2 Middle Distance Trained

 

 

 

Judy has been coaching adult runners for several years and running for many more. She has run 41 marathons including 16 trips to the Boston Marathon. She has completed five Iron Distnace Triathlons and several 1/2 Iron and Olympic Distance Triathlons.  She qualified for and has competed at the World Ironman Championships in Kona, the World Ironman 70.3 Championships twice, and the World Duathlon Championships. She placed 3rd in her age group at the 2012 World Ironman 70.3 Championships. She has earned four Rudy Awards and is the co-dirrector of the Bring on the Bay 3k Open Water Swim.  Judy's Blog
